What is Your Communication Toolbox?
There is no single solution to managing hearing loss and its challenges. Filling a ‘toolbox’ with helpful knowledge, attitudes, behaviours, and strategies can help you to communicate more effectively and help others understand the challenges of living with hearing loss. This presentation will highlight the key points of Lisa’s12-session course, Living Successfully with Hearing Loss,and provide practical take-away tips.
Dr. Lisa Dillon Edgett is an audiologist specializing in Aural Rehabilitation and an instructor at Vancouver Community College. Lisa’s passion lies in helping adults with hearing loss to communicate more effectively. She expanded the audiologic rehabilitation program offered through Vancouver Community College to include three levels, outreach options, and online delivery. Her Living Successfully with Hearing Loss curriculum includes speechreading, conversation strategies, assertiveness skills, and guided communication practice.

As already announced on our website and through the member email, we are seeking nominations for the positions of president, secretary, and member-at-To be a board member you need to be a member in good standing of CHHA Vancouver and to be nominated by two other members of any branch of CHHA. There will be a vote at the AGM. The nomination deadline is Friday November 15, 2024.
