It’s time to register for Walk2Hear!

It is now August and the walkathon is only about six weeks away.  SEPTEMBER 21ST, Saturday, in Jericho Beach Park, East end, we will again set out together on our walk.
It is time to register for the walkathon.   Go to www.chha.ca and click on the vancouver walk site.
If you need any help with the registration process, do contact us.
Register under Vancouver Branch if you are walking in support of Vancouver Branch, or register under the BC CHAPTER, if you are from the rest of the province outside the Greater Vancouver area.   If you wish to raise money for
your own Branch, please contact the Chapter for permission to arrange this option.
Be sure to read the “How to Register” directions as things are a bit different this year.  Set up your personal pledge page and start getting support for your walk.
This year, the funds raised by Chapter and Branch are going towards supporting hard of hearing Young Adults, to enable them to attend a Leadership Retreat at the time of the next National conference.  Our youth need to meet one another and to gain confidence and skills which will enable them to beoome our LEADERS OF TOMORROW.
Help us reach our goal in raising $8,000 in Vancouver, and in the province at large.  We can do it, together.  Lets go!

CHHA Vancouver wins Bette Moulton Award

At the CHHA National conference on May 25th, in Edmonton, CHHA Vancouver Branch was presented with the CHHA Bette Moulton Award, which recognizes a Branch for being a strong voice for the hard of hearing.

The nomination read, in part that “CHHA Vancouver is a thriving, active branch at a time when many branches are in decline. With committed individuals and a program of interesting activities CHHAVAN is one of the healthiest branches in the country.

This year CHHA Vancouver will hold its third annual WALK2HEAR Walkathon (in cooperation with the BC CHAPTER).  CHHA Vancouver was a major sponsor of the Youth Leadership  Retreat in Edmonton, at the national conference, using walkathon funds to contribute to their budget, and grant funds to subsidize nine B.C. youth to attend.

A major thank you to all of the  enthusiastic and committed   individuals who support and participate in the work of CHHAVAN, for people with hearing loss. You make it happen.

On behalf of Marilyn Dahl
